I have glass in my arm from around 25 years ago....?!

Question: I have glass in my arm from around 25 years ago.... The doctor who took care of me, so to speak was put on a leave of absence and that is it for the shotty job he did. He was ticked that he had to sew me up. I had a huge area, I was bleeding so bad it probably required around 20 stitches at the time, but he put like 7 in there. It had gaps like crazy and he did not numb it at the time very well and did not clean it out. I have had swelling in that area lately and redness under the skin...not red streaks, I know that indicates an infection. My scar is horrible and would not look the way it does if he would have done it right. My parents did not sue for malpractice and they did not go back and fix my arm A doctor told me awhile back about 5 yrs ago that I could have it done, but it would be extremely costly. Do you think that years down the line this glass could still be in there and cause this type of problem?

Whenever there are foreign object in our bodies, normally our bodies are designed to reject them, which looks like what happened a few years back. Sometimes the body can accept the object and grow around it and once in a great while it can "pull" the object into the body. If you are not having any more problems with it then you can leave it. But if it still is red and infected you need to get it out immediatley.

I have had a rock in my arm for about 13 years now. It's just a little pebble and doesn't bother me, so I just leave it there.

Yes i do because the doctor did not know what he/she was doing
