Question: k so im 8 months pregnant and i get a lot of back pain when sitting. i get it when sitting up straight and when im slightly slouched and when i have pillows behind me...so basically no matter what i do i get back pain when i sit. how do i get rid of it? or keep it from happening? or make it a little better? ANY advise would be great!

oh and the pain isnt like "baby is in big danger" pain....feels more like "ouch my back is sore from sitting like this" type of pain.

Maybe you could try lying on your back on the floor and having your lower legs resting on a chair, so that your knees are bent and your upper legs are at right angles to your body. Having your legs resting on a FIT ball is even better coz then you can gently move from side to side rocking back and forth to help release tight muscles. You only need to do this for 5-10 minutes, but best be guided by the reponse your body has to this....it might feel so nice you may want stay in this position for longer and that is more than okay.

In the latter stages of pregnancy your hormonal changes cause your ligaments to loosen and the spine becomes unstable. The best treatment is usually gentle competent soinal manipulation. You should find a good chiropractor. But you have to be careful. There are many good ones but there are a lot of rip offs. Try to find one that does not advertise a lot and is older. They will not need your business and will not rip you off. It is the best thing for you...

That sure sounds like a question for your doctor. Here are a few links that may provide you with some good information.
