I havent been able to poop for a week and it really hurts What do i do?!

Question: You can DO HER! ALL NIGHT LONG!

Answers: You can DO HER! ALL NIGHT LONG!

You need to take a laxative.

Drink a cup of castor oil - guaranteed to work.

Prune, apple, and grape juice are wonderful natural laxatives.

You must be constipated. Take a laxative or eat lots of fiber. This will make you go to the toilet easier.

take an enema and sometimes manual evacuation has to be resorted to.

I had this same problem. I don't know if you have taken anything such as a stool softener or laxative. I know that Milk of Magnesia sometimes works if you take it at night and then by the next day you get relief. For very quick relief, I would go and buy some liquid glycerine suppositories. The bottle is very small and it's sort of like a very mini enema but it has glycerine in it which is also in a glycerine suppository. The difference in the liquid glycerine and a glycerine suppository is that the liquic one works within a few minutes. It will relief anything that is near the lower rectum. If that doesn't work, you should see a G.I. dr. as you could be impacted. I once had to do this and the dr. ended up using a small tool to help loosen the stuff inside of me. (I was also on opiates which can be very very constipating) and once I got home, I was able to go without anything. The dr. also told me to take something (either fiber, milk of magnesia, or other form of a laxative- like Phillips non-cramping stuff). I did and it worked like a charm. I'm not going to lie, but when I went to have the dr. loosen up what was inside me, it hurt a lot. He said if I didn't come in when I would have, I would have ended up in the hospital. Being impacted can be a medical emergency and can also affect the bowels. Seriously though if you can get liquid glycerine and get some relief with that, then you may be able to get complete relief. When I was impacted, a liquid glycerine wouldn't do anything for me. If you do get relief after using the liquid glycerine, then you can take something else like Phillips non-cramping or Milk of Magnesia at bedtime so it can work the next day. Even if you get up in the middle of the night, it's better than being stopped up. Try not to eat to much cheese as that can stop a person up as well. Another suggestion would be to try an enema after a liquid glycerine suppository but don't over do the laxatives or enemas. My husband also a paramedic got a call for a shooting and it turned out it was a shi%ting. The patient looked like he was shot and when asked what he did, he said he took some laxatives and also took two or three enemas. That was way to much and the result was that his intestines were literally hanging down near his scrotum and he and the rest of the house was covered in his waste. Pretty awful for him. He ended up going into immediate surgery to repair the intestines and put them back in place. He did get relief but it was way to much and he lost a lot of fluids. Make sure if you do take something, that you drink a lot of fluids and if the over the counter stuff doesn't work in the same day or the next day (if yout take something at night time), please get to a dr. Actually any dr. even a general dr. can help with impaction but if you have a gastroenterologist or G.I. dr. it's better to go in with them. Tell the receptionist that you need to see a dr. NOW and if you don't, you may end up in the E.R. in a few days. You want to avoid going to the E.R. as it can be much more costly then a trip to the dr's office. Plus the wait time to see a dr. is a lot shorter than going into the E.R. and seeing someone you don't even know. But go to the E.R. if you don't get relief or can't get in to see a dr. Good luck and I hope things work out for you. I know to well that it's very uncomfortable.

Take a stool softener.

If you are serious that it has actually been 7days then you could really be in trouble. Have you taken any laxative at all?
There are so many brands out there, I recommend MiraLax,
I have (had)chronic constipation due to medications that I take and nothing worked. I finally was told about MiraLax and I haven't had trouble since!!!

However, if you try the laxative and you haven't gone by in the morning......you need to see a doc ASAP. You are running the risk of a rupture, that causes toxins, high fever and excruciating pain. Could even lead to diverticulitis which case you would lose part of your Colin, if you have to have too much removed you will have to have a bag. So you don't want to blow something like this off.
I know on here people always go to extremes and give worst case scenario, but in this case it is extreme.
Good Luck, hope you poop!! ;-)

P.S. Mira Lax doesn't have any taste either!!!!!!!

HI. The best thing to do is go to your drugstore and get the smallest bottle of miralax. It has no taste or odor and you mix half cap in ANY drink.. I PROMISE you won't taste it. The milk of maganisa taste horrible and so does the maganisum citrate... I have Chrons and IBS... Please trust me this is the best and easiest thing to do.. If still harder you can take two dulcalax to help get it out... if you have anymore problems feel free to email me anytime.....good luck... don't drink anything else....

Buy an enema and take laxatives until you have a really good BM. Then make sure you're diet includes lots of fiber. I feel for you- I know you are miserable!

take 4 stool softeners and a saline enema...or go to your docky to give you a suppository's u will have to go..eat alot of fiber and fruit and 6, 8ozs water aday to avoid this..fro happening again..!!!!!!!!!!GOOD LUCK TOO YOU...
