Lump under jaw line (painfull when touched)?!
Question: my fionce has a small lump under his jaw line, it is starting to cause some pain for him when he touches it.its been there for aprox 5 days,can any body suggest what this may be??x

OMG...... SWOLLEN LYMPH GLANDS OR MAYBE MONO!! MY SISTER HAD THAT!! IT LOOKED SO WEIRD.... IF UR FIANCEE HAS BEEN FEELING REAL CRAPPY LATELY OR REAL TIRED, I SUGGEST GO TO THE DOCTOR. DOES HE COME IN CONTACT WITH MONEY A LOT, CUZ IF HE DOES, THEN HE SHOULD WASH AND OR SANITIZE REGULARLY!! I HOPE HE GETS BETTER, IT TOOK MY SISTER LIKE 4-5 DAYS IN BED!! DON'T SHARE ANYTHING WITH HIM THAT WILL COME IN CONTACT WITH HIS SALIVA, MOUTH & TRY NOT TO HAVE HIM BREATHE DIRECTLY TOWARDS U!!!
swollen lymph node, i had one in HS, went to doctor they tested to see if it was cancerous, then prescribed antibiotics. went away in less than a week. when they test it, they will do an ultrasound type thing.
I had the same problem, and it could also be a stone in the salivary gland. Only a doctor can tell you for sure.
Yeah, that sounds like a swollen lymph node. I get 'em a few times a year. It's usually due to the body fighting off an infection or allergies. Try giving him 5 ibuprofen twice a day. It should help with the pain AND the swelling. Also, water will help flush the system, and if it just won't go away, a trip to the doctor for antibiotics may be in order.
If it is under his jaw line under his ear then that could be his tonsils........It may be infected or inflamed.....After 5 days he may need to go and get antibiotics before it will clear up.

In the summer, i had a big one, and it moves around, and it was so painful to touch, and it kept feeling like i was getting bigger, it was only a swollen lymph node , it was very weird, it was like whole left side of my face had infection, and my eye would always water and then i got a huge bruise around my eye from it:S
Anyways, if you go to the doctors, they will give him antibiotics, and he'll be good as new:D
