Is it normal to faint when you see something really gorey and bloody?!

Question: Ok, so I fainted in class today because we were watching a movie and there was a scene where this guy's hand gets crushed by someone's grip and blood comes out , you hear fingers crack, and you even see bones popping out. I thought it was repulsive so I looked at my binder instead and next thing you know...I'm on the ground and my teacher is checking my pulse. I DON'T do drugs, drink alcohol, I'm definitly not pregnant (I'm only 16). I usually get squeamish when I see blood, so I think that is why I fainted. My class freaked out and my teacher was worried too- so obviously this was embarrassing for me. So what I want to know is if its normal for some people to faint when you see something gorey or bloody? How should I handle the situation when I return tomorow? By the way, I was totally fine because I went back to school like 2 hours later.

You are normal. Some people get really upset (or sick) at the sight of blood and gore. If people say anything, just tell them you didn't feel well. Hopefully, they won't ask you to go into details.
