How long will my first appointment for physical therapy take?!


Question: i am going to physical therapy for the first time tomorrow, i dont know what to expect or how long it will take does anyone know what they will do for my first visit? its for neck/shoulder/migraine problems from carrying my daughter

about an hour maybe a little more... the PT will do an evaulation, probably give u heat to relax ur muscles, stretch ur neck and shoulder, and then give u some exercises both to do there and at home...

best of luck... PT isn't too bad

It will be about an hour long.

Mine lasted almost two hours!

Initial evaluations will take no more than 2 hours. The physical therapist must make a through evaluation. This includes an extensive interview on your living/work environment and how that affects your musculoskeletal condition. Depending on your condition, the appointment following the initial evaluation could take no longer than one hour. Some diagnoses necessitate a longer treatment per visit. Your therapist will explain this in detail to you during your first visit.
