I Have A Sleeping Problem Help Me Please?!


Question: I go to bed around 11 pm and i won't fall asleep until 1 or 2 in the morning.This has been going on for a while.Then the next day i would wake up at 8 in the morning.As you can see i only get a few hours of sleep.Sometimes i would fall asleep for three hours in the afternoon from 3-6pm.I have alot of things going on in my head.Especialy stuff like my ex girlfriends break up and stuff.Any answer would truly be appreaciate! thanks in advance.

well my mother uses a little nite quil to go to sleep,i think(not entirly sure)that there better then sleeping pills.I would sugest writing to all down and then throw the paper away to clear your head a bit,or maybe even exercise before you go to bed to my you a little more sleepy.maybe even drink sleepy time tea,or take a nice hot bath and relax to calm down and it gives to time to think so you dont have to in bed.one more thing try to make it more comfortable in bed like a pillow under you knees or your feet,that works for me

also one more thing,try some ocean,or rain or even birds-music like the ones where you can hear the waves or rain falling or birds singing there very relaxing too.i think the problem is that you need to relax

Listen to some calming music before bed.
Don't watch TV, go on the computer, or excersize near bed time either.

don't think while you are falling asleep

have a rest time an hour before you go to bed and just relax, watch tv, or read a book

sleeping pills

do not do anything full of energy right before bed

believe this.. warm milk.. yes.. it works.

Sometimes it is really difficult to sleep when things are running through our heads. Even though it may sound silly I suggest doing yoga or breathing exercises before bed. You can get a DVD from the library or you can lay on your back tense your whole body then relax. Then from head to toe tense one part and slowly relax it and try not to think.Hope this helps:)

Valerian and 5-HTP are supposed to help. Other remedies can be found in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

Whatever you do, try and avoid that sleep in the afternoon. As tempting as it is, and as easy as it is to do, it is really harmful to you getting a good night's rest. Go for a walk in the afternoon or exercise...anything other than sleep.
