i am an ex smoker and you must listen VERY carefully to what i have to say, me personally could probelly change your life, save you hundreds of thousands of dollars and lengthen your life span

ok, do you believe in God, =Jesus, Holy Spirit, do you have any relitives that have passed away

now this is what i want you to do, swear on the lives of those who you love and cherrish, NOT that you will quit smoking but that for every ciggarete that you smoke you will throw away or give away, 5 dollars, and if you dont stick to that promise well, it your life that your tossing away

i garentee you G A R R E N T E E you, either 1 of 2 things

A. you will quit smoking in less than 10 days
B. you will be broke and wont be able to offord bus fare to the bronx

the choice is yours if you choose to accept my advice, you will be a happy person, if you dont, there are many sad sad sad years ahead of you

my boyfriend quit smoking. He starting dipping instead. It worked!

I did it cold turkey and worked with a lot of will power!.

suggestions:
1)throw away all of ur packs,
2)have someone with u whenever u go 2 a place w/ cigerretes so they can stop u
3)use pretzel sticks instead
4)build a time machine and stop urself from smoking ur first cigerrete.

my friend quit by tipping her ash tray into a jar, and filling it with water, every time she had a craving she opened the jar and had a smell. She nearly vomited and after a week only had to think about the smell and it was enough to pt her off. good luck

set a date for when you want to quit by, lets say two weeks. buy a brand that you dislike the taste of and decrease the amount you smoke everday until you reach the day you set to quit. and you should pick up a new hobby, like exercising, reading, or something that gets your mind off of it.

If you are addicted to nicotine, then you need to re-direct your thinking a bit.

Lifesavers help by having something to put in you mouth.
Drinking straws that have been cut the same length of cigs you smoke can be held between the fingers so you're still holding a "cig".

Using a clear jar, fill it full of cig butts and ashes and then put water in it - every time you want a smoke, lift that jar up and smell it.

Stay away from other smokers. If you can't, you have to have enough willpower to say no.

You have to be ready to quit. One day i woke up, and was ready. i tried all teh other methods, but they didnt work. I quit cold turkey, and it was hard, but it worked.

I have heard you can get a prescription, and that is sucessful.

Cold turkey worked for me

This is how I quit smoking. And, the reason it worked for me is that I had gotten to the point where I thought it was awful to have mouthfuls of smoke going into my lungs and envisioned my lungs the color of the bottom of an ash tray.

I made a deal with myself, that the ONLY time I could smoke would be if I smoked in front of a mirror, thus forcing me to watch as the smoke went into my mouth. It worked! What made it easier also, was that it was often difficult to find a mirror where it was okay to smoke, so that in itself forced me to cut back and then eventually I got to disgusted with what I saw that I quite.

Lots of luck to you and congratulations for trying to quit. Even if at first you only cut back, you're still better off for it.
