Tore Muscles In My Stomach and I'm Pregnant - Help Please!?!

Question: Well I did the dumbest thing I could possibly do. I am 12 weeks pregnant and locked myself out of the house. I decided to climb through a window to get in. Two days later I woke up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain and went to the hospital. They did an ultrasound and MRI and ruled out appendicitis (that's what they thought it might be) and everything is fine with the baby. They could not find the cause of my pain. They sent me home with percocet and since then I am still in a lot of pain. The pain goes right across my stomach at the height of my bellybutton. Whenever I go to stand up, change position or basically move I get shooting, stabbing pain. I've decided it is from torn muscles from me climbing through that damn window. The painkillers aren't working that great, any other suggestions what I can do to relieve the pain and get this to heal faster?

I had a similar problem with a stupendous cough that developed when I was 37 weeks...I had terrific muscle ache across the top of the "bump", and was in a lot of pain. Warm compresses helped, take a bath...not too hot, and drape flannels over your tummy to gently warm the muscles, and they'll heal faster...At least you aren't stretched to the max with a 11 pound baby like I was! :-)

You should call your doctor, explain the situation and see what he/she says. If they don't do anything for you, find another doctor. Talk to your primary care physician and/or your OB/GYN. Maybe an hour of heat from a heating pad, and then alternating ice and tylenol might help. Good luck!
