Is it bad that my wrists crack so much?!

Question: Years of gymnastics have really taken a toll on my wrists. Everytime I move them even the slightest bit, they make a really loud cracking noise, but I can't help it. Is this bad for my wrists? What can I do to help it?

I would suggest you go to a chiropractor. Popping is natural for your joints if you are keeping them flexible, but sometimes air bubbles can cause discomfort. You should be fine if you stay active but should always go in for regular check ups with your doctor.

i have the same problem with toe joint

i don't think it's even supposed to crack

Yes you will probably get really bad arthritis when you are older.

I don't know how to prevent that though sorry....

yes, this is bad. You will develop arthritis down the road. Your ligaments are stretched and are not keeping the bones tightly in place.

I had the same situation with my wrists from 10 years of bodybuilding. They cracked so much that at the end of the day, my wrists had an intense burning sensation in them. Almost felt like i had Icy-Hot on them.

Long story short, i found out about prolotherapy on the internet. I decided to give it a try, but i would go to the best in the country for it.

Here is the website to my doctor, Dr. Ross Hauser

If you cannot see him, here is a list of other doctors

You can research it here.

After just a few treatments in each wrist, they no longer crack anymore. My right wrist was actually torn doing bicep curls a few years ago. I rested it for a long time, and it ended up bothering me for the 2 years i had it. I could barely lift a few pounds without it hurting. The prolotherapy completely healed it.

research it and give it a try. your problems cannot be fixed with ice, heat, or anti-inflammatories. Exercises to strengthen the wrist will also not help. your ligaments are passed it's time to heal.

i don't think it is. it happens to me/

I had this happen to me before and it still flares up occasionally. My doctor found out I had carple tunnel syndrome in the early stages. This is what all of the poping was coming from. My wrist would pop to try and open up the ccarpals. After treatment cortisone, anti inflamatory, and a brace. My wrists stoped doing this. Now I only have occasional flare ups. My doctor says that its likely that I will develop atheritis latter on in life but there is noting to do to stop it. As for the carpel tunnel its very treatable. I did not have any severe pain just the poping.

yes. But it's not your fault.
