Can you have an exposed nerve in your toe?!

Question: I cut my toe nails last week and one of my big toes i cut a little too much off. Since I have had a lot of toe pain, it started as just a little painful in the top cornor of my big toe and now its infected. I have been putting hydrogen proxide, neosporin, tea tree oil, bag balm, and draw out salve on it. I have been able to get some of the infection out but it feels like I have an exposed nerve. I cant touch it and any movement or wind causes pain. I dont want to go to the doctors. Any suggestions?

You can't have an exposed nerve in your toe. It sounds as though you have done everything you could for it. If the infection is causing pus to accumulate under your skin this can build up as pressure that is very painful. It sounds like you might need antibiotics and possibly incision and drainage. Sometimes the doctor can't be avoided.
