Kind of hate my new mattress..? Will it get any better?!

Question: So I just got a new mattress delivered yesterday, and I was so excited, I really liked it in the store, and I thought it would be much better than the piece of crap bed I had before..but I actually had a hard time sleeping last night.. and I woke up this morning with a BACKACHE!!! I thought it was going to be really soft, but it's actually much firmer bed than I thought. Is it possible to "break in" the bed, or will my back get used to it? Or am I stuck with a bad mattress? :(

I have the same problem. I wanted it so soft but when it reached my place its firm and just had this weird thought my fiance won't be comfortable with it as well. He said firm mattress is good for the back but still I like a it so soft but I believe the quality I bought it good. So what I did, I just bought a mattress enhancer (soft thing you place on top of the mattress but a comforter) I had a very good night sleep. I think your mattress will get better. I noticed mine is getting better as well. I just got it last FEB. It have to be so soft when my fiance arrive on April. Try to jump on it. Lol!

Once you wear it down it should feel better.

you will either have to break it in within a week,
or else you are stuck with the sucky mattress.
if it has a guarentee, take it back, or exchange it for credit.

Did you buy it from a place with any kind of warranty or decent return policy? I would see about returning it. I don't think it will get better.

You will get used to it in a few days.

you will prob just get used to it. its like hotel matresses - their crap but you will gradually get used to it. try using a blanket as an undersheet.

Give it 2 weeks to a month to get used to

With time is going to get soft.

i imagine you could get use to it and firm beds tend to be recommended over soft ones
is there a chance that you got the wrong bed?
is it returnable or exchangeable to a certain time?

I believe that your mattress will break in after a little while of use. Also, your back will most likely get used to it.

Does the store have a return policy? We tried out three mattresses (and returned each one) because we had the same problem. But, I made sure before I purchased it that I fully understood the return policy. Some stores and some states don't allow it.

Unfortunately, in the store, the mattress is used by many people, so it's softer and broken in.

Can you break in a mattress? Yes, but do call the store and ask about the return policy. If they have one, keep the mattress, try it out, and be sure to return it before the due date if it doesn't work out. (Mark it on the calendar!)

Keep your receipt, write down the name of the person you talked to as well. Good luck!

contact the store you bought it from. Most stores do have a policy of trial runs so should be able to help you. One night may not be enough of a test - you may need 2 or 3. Sometimes the change is "shocking" to the body but it settles after the few days.
However the chances of them switching it decrease the longer you have it.
If the store won't help contact the manufacturer. Explain the situation and I am sure they will exchange it for a different firmness.

It will not break in, until it is worn out. If you have an exchange warranty or guarantee of satisfaction, call the store at once and request/demand an exchange. Go to the store if necessary and make a very loud complaint, preferrable with witnesses. Stores get real cooperative, when they know other customers are listening. They don't want other customers to get a bad impression of their customer service policies.
