No, unless you have about 200 of them in a small room. Reason being: the oxygen would be burnt off.

It's never the "fumes" that will yield a threat. It could be that the candle itself, you have problems with. Some candle makers put actual pollen and plants in their candles, so they smell original. If you have allergy problems with some of those things, that could be it.

I do not think its the candles, as the firefighter said there would have to be lots of them to remove the oxygen from the room.

Its probably something else that is making you tired, its been a long winter, it might be what you eat. It may be just the lack of sunshine and the weather affecting you. It might be your period or the winter blues. You may be coming down with a cold or the flu, that often will make people tired. Or it could be a combination of those things or other things like emotional stuff that you are not dealing with, or exams coming up.

Do you notice black smoke in the area you burn the candle? I also, burn candles at night, and started to see black on the wall where the candle sits. This is what you are breathing while you sleep if you are leaving the candle burning until it goes out. NOT GOOD DO NOT BURN CANDLES AND GO TO SLEEP. I checked into "Soy" candles less smoke and better for the air.

One problem may be that you're coating your lungs with candle wax, decreasing their efficiency. Also, if they're not burning fully they'll produce carbon monoxide (anything that burns incompletely will.)

NOT soy candles :)
