Whats wrong with my wrist?!

Question: my wrist and arm has been bothering me for about a month now. everytime i lift something relatively heavy like a 24 pack of pop, my arm like seriously hurts.

its not really my wrist though. its hard to explain, but its like a sharp pain on my right arm. its on the left side and is like a shooting pain.

i know you are not all doctors, and its pretty much impossible to diagonose me over the internet, but i thought it was worth a try. do you know what could be wrong with my wrist/arm and what they can do to fix it?

and i cant stop lifting things, its in my job description bascially.
also im 16, i work in a grocery store and spend maybee two hours online total a day. i dont think its carpal tunnel.

It sounds like a tendon/ligament strain, which would shoot all the way up your arm. When you lift things, your tendons/ligaments especially those in the thumb area may be compensating for your muscles, meaning that your tendons/ligaments are doing the work your muscles should be doing and are getting strained. So you have now developed tendonitis in your wrist/forearm area. There is a muscle that your tendons connect too that runs from the base of your thumb all the way to your elbow and it sounds like this whole structure is strained. A velcro type wrist brace would help alot (people w/ carpal tunnel use these all the time), start taking aleve (naproxen) as prescribed if you can tolerate it, this will definitely help with the pain because it will decrease irritation and internal swelling in your wrist. Ice it as much as you can stand it until your symptoms clear up and add aspirin for pain if you can tolerate it as prescribed.
The other possibility is that it could be a ganglion cyst, which would cause similar type symptoms. If you notice a lump and can kind of move it around, it might be a cyst. Don't panic though, they are very common and really just an annoyance. But, you may have to see a doctor to treat it however if your symptoms don't clear up. Hope this helps!

When i had those symptoms I had tennis elbow. Just go to your doctor and if it is they will just give you an anti- inflammitory. That's all I Knnow about - sorry If i can't help!

Maybe pinched a nerve or pulled a muscle?

May be there is deficiency of calcium ..........so drink more milk
............i had the same problem......................try it...................

If it hurts near your elbow sort of below your elbow and on the top, that's where mine hurt like you described and it turned out to be what they call "tennis elbow" and you can get a strap to wear over that spot and it helps if you wear it alot.
