I have it too - I got it years ago in a job where I did a lot of data entry work.

My cure? change careers.... and unfortunately that's about the only cure. If ignored it gets worse and can become carpal tunnel syndrome, for which there are surgeries and steroid shots into your joints (VERY painful).

Not all bad news though, there are some things you can do to help - not cure but help.

First - sit up straight - a lot of teh problem is bad posture. have your elbows dropped at your sides and your monitor at a level where you don't have to look down to see it.

Next, stop what you're doing, drop your arms loosely by your sides and shake your lower arms and hands vigorously for at least 30 seconds. Do that every 15 minutes or so - it helps with the pain as well as preventing more.

Yes I have carpel tunnel, and I am not having surgery for it, I do exercises for the hands everyday. You hold onto each wrist with the other hand and you twist your hand, I do this everynight, you must cut way back on the salt, a big problem for the carpel area. good luck

As a medical transcriptionist who types all day, I use a wrist support type glove - you can find them online, but they may not be as sturdy as the ones the doctor told you to get. You can get wrist splints that you wear at night. If you can, you should cut down on the pc. If the meds and the splints don't help, the only other thing is carpal tunnel surgery to decompress the nerve. Hope you can avoid that.
