Kicked in the leg?!

Question: my friend and her boyfriend got into it today over somethin stupid (he threw a sock at her and she threw a can of soda, it was just about empty). anyways, he got up and kicked her in the leg . he had on his steel-toe boots. it was a couple of inches above her ankle on the outer side of her leg. at first she said there was stinging and then a sort of numbness. now, a half hour later, there's a knot and its sensitive to the touch, even brushing my fingers over it. she is afraid to go to dr cause she and her bf had a little tiff and she dont want any trouble. what could be wrong with her leg? like, the knot and the sensitivty. could her leg be broken or fractured? what signs does she look for if something serious was done to it? it hurts real bad when she walks and roll her foot/ankle.

is she waiting to get kicked in the head?

that knot may be a bruise or a blood clot. she needs to have an xray or a bone scan to rule out fractures. if the bone fragmented, can actually kill her.

the fact that she has the pain with moving, she needs to see a doctor. if your friend think she can outsmart herself by not moving around, let her know she can get a blood clot that will give her a STROKE!

Further, if she decides to drink and eat less so she doesn't need to go to the toilet, she can easily get a urinary tract infection that can lead to a kidney infection that can lead to kidney failure.

she can easily get constipated (not moving around and not eating much) that she'll need dynamite to move her bowels.

and don't forget the skin is broken so it can get infected. the fact that she was kicked by "steel" is even more dangerous! did she get her tetanus shot? metal is a haven for a bunch of dangerous bacteria! tetanus shot is good for 10 years. she will also need antibiotics. the knot likely means the injury is deeper than it seems.

Your friend really needs to see a doctor so he can prescribe all the medications/shots she needs.

I know you don't like what you're reading, but for gosh sakes, do the right thing!

BE A GOOD FRIEND AND DRAG HER TO THE ER/DOCTOR. SHE ALL READY HAS TROUBLE!

good luck.

There could be serious trauma. Getting kicked by steel toed boots is no joke, she needs to go to an emergency room.
There is NO excuse for that kind of behaviour, and she needs to end that relationship immediately. Support her however you can, because she needs you help in more ways than one right now!
