Any risk sleeping with my mouth closed?!

Question: Hey... i usually sleep with my mouth closed. Is this good or bad? Does it affect my teeth or breath smell? And what about breathing from the nose only? Thanks

Mouth breathing is worse than breathing through the nose, although you probably breath through both in the course of the normal sleep cycle. Mouth breathing causes dryness to the oral tissues which lessens the bacteria fighting ability of saliva. You are one of the lucky ones who can breath through your nose while you sleep. You are also much less likely to snore. Congrats.

Thank you very much all of you Report It

  • why worry - when you are alseep you cant control it anyway

You may have a pool of saliva in ur mouth when u wake up.

It's actually better to sleep with your mouth closed because then you don't wake up with a sore throat!

Yea, you wont swallow a bug.

The only drawback I can see from sleeping with your mouth closed is that you don't get spiders (and other things) in your mouth.
It is quite normal to sleep with your mouth closed and only breathe through your nose.
If you have bad breath in the morning, gargle with mouthwash.

It's better to sleep with your mouth closed. If you sleep with it open your mouth will be dry and pasty, Your breath will be stale. Just brush (include your tongue), floss, and use mouthwash to kill the germs. Drink lots of water during the day. That's really the only way to fight bad breath.
