Id say youv'e done some damage inside the knee! What activitys were you doing? It could be any number of things: ligaments, cartilage, tendons, internal bruising. If your problems persist go see a doctor my friend.

You could have an patella injury. I had that, it hurt when i sat there to long. It hurt after gym. It hurt when i bent or straightened it. So that might be it.

If you have a little bump under your kneecap then you've got Osgood-Schlatter Disease, and it hurts like a b****.

I thnk you kight have what I have.
Osgood-Schlatter disease is a little "bump"right below your kneecaps.
The first little while you get it it'll hurt alot, but the pain goes away as your body gets used to it.
DON'T HIT THE BUMP ON ANYTHING!!! It'll be the most excrutiating pain you'll feel, trust me.
Use a knee brace/pad for any type of sports when playing.
