I drink a cup of green tea in the morning in then I drink some about 45 min. before I go to bed. This helps me calm down. I also try to read a book or something like that, that will keep my mind off of things. Normally when I can't sleep it's because I'm thinking about things I shouldn't be thinking about or worrying. Taking a long hot bath is probably what helps me the most. I don't know if you pray but prayer and meditation works too! Good luck. I know what it's like to lack sleep.
Oh remember to try your hardest not to take a sleeping aid. I use to take an over the counter sleep aid and I couldn't usually sleep without it. Just to make sure that there is no medical problem you should see a doctor if you have tried other ways to fall asleep.

there are some sleeping pills now that are quite good, they are what we could call : LIGHT . Use them only when you have trouble sleeping. Do not take anything stronger than you really need.. and stop them as soon as you can...

taking a walk outside after dark would help... the computer doesn't help sleeping.

music that i have heard before, like rock that i have listened to over and over again but is still good. the already knowing it is important, you must also own it. b/c if you dont you will be like i love this song and stay awake listening to it instead of using it as an aid.

Going to bed at the same time every night and getting up at at the same time every morning. This will improve your sleep habits and also,
at night don't think of problems; and think about your blessings. Pray.

Lots and Lots Of Alcohol... I drink get drunk and pass out without a problem....

Elavil and seroquel....really...you need a prescription for these meds...
You might want to try Tylenol PM....it works too.

try to avoid sleeping in the morning. if u don't try this. make sure it is dark as in really dark. if u live in new york buy this eye mask thing . switch the air con to comfortable temperature. lastly play some jazzy or slow music. not loud enough for you ot sing along but loud enough for u to know it is there. that way your mind won't focus on it but be lulled by it

I listen to Emmy Rossum or Frou Frou...something about their delicate voices that helps me drift right off into sleep.

Or sometimes I'll heat up some milk to help me fall asleep too!

i've had sleep troubles for years, and hate taking tylenol pm cause it makes me feel terrible in the morning. the only thing that helps me out and still makes me feel refreshed is melatonin, its the hormone that actually tells your brain to relax and get to sleep. You can buy it at any health food or vitamin store.

Some warm milk at bedtime is supposed to help. Other remedies can be found in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".
