Attention all medical personnel....?!

Question: I need opinions on what could possibly be wrong...

About 3 weeks ago I slipped on some black ice and my shin came down hard on the corner of my step... hurt like h.ell.... anyways, I developed a bump on my shin and it seems to get bigger one day and then smaller the next...

It doesn't hurt anymore... except when I stand for long periods of time, or when I run...

Should I get it checked out, or do you think that because I hit it really hard that it will take longer to heal?

Attention all idiots, who call people idiots,......not to mention any names,....connemara. For the question If a injury isn't severe enough to go to the Doctor, it's pretty ignorant to just go there and you don't need to be. Give it time, and if it persists, then go make a Doctor's appointment. Maybe this person doesn't have the funds or luxury to just run to the Doctor everytime something happens,... some people have to pick and choose when to go to the Doctor, and when not. For some it's a big decision.

YES GET CHECKED OUT AND PUT CREAM OR SOMETHING =D

Maybe you should get it checked out.
Expecially if you hit the ice reaally hard.
And if it hurts to stand, or run?
Yeah, you should get it checked out.

Go see your family doctor. He/she is going to want to see an ex-ray to see if it's going to show any hair line cracks on the bone. If it is cracked or broken and you do nothing about it, in time it will heal, but not correctly. Go see the doc.

Whenever you fall down, you should aways get it checked out. I am a family doctor and in most cases it will be okay, but sometimes the injury can get worse. Like in a car accident, you start to feel the pain a week later, but therapy help decrease the future pain.

Tomorrow, just go and get the X-ray. Sometimes the pain lingers, but the pain might go away after another 2-3 weeks because the body needs to adapt and needs to rebulid any damage tissue, if any.

Attention all idiots! You need to actually GO TO THE DOCTOR and have the appropriate testing to diagnose what might be wrong. You cannot expect anyone here (whether they are medially trained or not) to diagnose something sight unseen. Wake up! Get to the doctor now!
