My ear hurts.. :( Help!??!

Question: Hi there! I just got over this really bad cold virus that everyone in school had. It included a really bad sore throat(BAD COUGH), light headed-ness, and nearing the end a really runny nose. I have been blowing my nose a lot since the end of the cold. Yesterday, I went horseback riding and cold wind was blowing in my ears, and I woke up this morning and it felt like something was blocking my left ear. I could still hear out of it, but not as well. My mom heated up some ear drops (natural garlic oil) and cut up a garlic clove and put some in my ear. Then she put a cotton ball over it(I know its weird but its an anti bacterial which supposedly kills the bacteria making the infection so I was okay with it). Its been a few hours and my ear hurts MORE!! And I am getting a head ache. Can anyone tell me any Remedies that can help me get this ear "infection" away quick?!
Thanks! Have a nice weekend everyone!

Garlic and oil are the solutions which I know of, and your mom already did that. You should go to the store and buy some ear drops targeted especially at easing pain, I have used these and they were very effective. Use them to dull the pain while continuing to use garlic and oil to treat the infection. If it goes on for more than a few days you need to see a doctor and get some antibiotics.

HOPE I HELPED ITS A WEBSITE THAT HELPS ON
EARACHES

:]

This could be an inner ear infection and you should see an ear Spesialist about it, An Antibiotic will clear it up, and you do need a RX for it. Get there ASAP you do not want to lose your hearing. I knw of no other way to get behind the ear drum where these midle ear infections develop. Protect your ears in cold weater .

you should see a doctor to make sure you do not need medication, as some types of ear infections will not go away completly with them, but until then keep a warm compress against the ear, if you have peppermint oil put a few drops on the compress. Lay on the side that hurts witht he compress, the warmth from the compress should help the pain
