Ankles and kneess?!

Question: i was racing my friends down the stairs once while i was on a field trip for school. when i got to the botttom my ankle twisted it hurt sooo bad. this was about a year ago when it happened. but since it was only the beginning of the field trip, i had to walk on it for the rest of the day. by the time i got home, it was like sooo swollen and i was like delirious. my mom didn't know what to do with it so i basicallly just left it alone until my dad got home from work . he told me that we should go to the doctor and that it might be fractured/broken but we never actuallly did go, i never thought that it was actually broken either. it still hurts like all the time whenever im standing up for along time or im walking or running. so now im thinking that maybe i did break it cause it ALWAYS is hurting me. what should i do?

and also, my knees constantly hurt also? i dont remember hurting them or anything, my parents say its from tumbling but i dont know. they allways crack and like pop

First, you need to get x-rays of that ankle.

If you did indeed break it, and since, has healed, which will cause your knee to hurt because your gait is off from a improperly healed break. You also could have injured you knee when you twisted your foot that day.

Fixing an old break would require surgery.

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

ur ankle could have been broken but its too late now to do anything about it... as for ur knee i would go and get it checked out... and be sure to mention that u hurt ur ankle cause it may have something to do with ur knee pain... it could also be coming from tumbling... try to stay off it as much as possible until u can be seen by a doc... and try to take it easy... ice and elevate...

u probaly hurt ur knee at the same time u hurt ur ankle and just didnt realize it at the time... could possilby be meniscus damage...

when u go to the doc ask him to do an MRI

see a doctor. try to avoid surgery if possible. don't listen to that first person that says you can't do anything about the ankle...you sound young and you have a long time to live on that ankle! you can and should get it healed as best as you can.
