I have insomnia, any help?!


Question: I dont sleep, I go to bed early, but I never fall asleep. I dont drink any caffeine like pop, coffee or tea, and I do take sleeping meds but I still cant sleep. Help?

Try reading a boring book, drink warm milk before you go to bed and do some exercises so that you feel tired. From http://nosleep.in

sometimes, sleep aids can make you have the opposite effect and stay up or don't stay sleeping. that is the effect it had on me. I was taking anti depressants as well. I was on the hyper side as a kid and this sleep medication made me more hyper. Try relaxing music, hot bath with herbal tea and candles. Have a hot turkey sandwich and a glass of milk later. That will make you very tired. If you read a book, read one that is relaxing and not stimulating to the mind. Wind down in the evening and have a regular routine - prepare your body for sleep by hygiene, rest, and a relaxing activity. It may help to pray before you go to bed and ask for God to give you a good night's sleep. I just thought of something else - regular exercise makes you sleep better too.
