Anyone have lower back problems? What did you do to ease the pain?!

Question: My stepdad has had lower back pains, has been to a doctor who has been prescribing him lower back exercises, but still feels a tremendous amount of pain. Anyone going through the same thing that could possibly give him great advice to ease it?

The first thing he needs to try is ice packs, sit in a comfortable chair and place the ice pack against his lower back. It that don't help then have him lay on his stomach in bed and you or your Mother place moist heat to the area. Moist heat can be what I do for my wife and she does for me. Take a towel and soak it in hot waterr wate and ring it out. Place the towels on the lower back or long ways from the lower back up the spine. Do this for twenty minutes. Have her massage his back with Aspercreme Cream and apply a little pressure to both sides of the spine. Never directly on the spine. This should help. He can also take a 600 mg Motrin. If his back isn't a permanent type injury, tell him to go to a Chiropractor who will x-ray the area and give him an adjustment. His Sacroiliac may be out of place. It won't hurt to try these things. Good luck to him.

lie on the ground with buttocks closest to sofa and put legs up for 30 minutes. this helps stretches the low back - Lakota pain reliever works topically

He can try using Tiger Balm it is made to help relieve all kinds of pains. It doesn't smell to good but I use it for time to time when my pills wont help the pain. Just becarefull not to get that stuff in your eyes or in your mouth it will burn. Other then that sorry I do not know what eles to try.

My husband uses a heating pad . He says it really helps him.
