How can I get a good nights sleep?!


Question: I play poker professionally so I have to stay up very late to follow the Americans peak hours and even when on European Sites I stay up till 2am.
Every morning I'm being woke up by either my family fighting on their way out to school or the sun shining through my curtains.

I haven't had over 4hours sleep in weeks and as a result I've had to stop playing as I'm feeling to wrecked and stop going out due to the same problem.
Its happened that much its become my sleeping pattern, even on the few days my family stay quiet in the morning and the sun isn't shining I don't sleep as its become my sleeping pattern.

I want to continue my life what should I do?

I found this website that you can look at, it talks about 'how to be an early riser'.
Basically, you have to set a specific time to wake up everyday, and sleep when you're tired. Soon after a few days, your body will adjust to a proper sleeping pattern, and ensure you have enough sleep.
If you've already done this and still have problems, then maybe you should look at your night time habits. If you're constantly staring at the computer at night with the lights on, then maybe you have too much light going on. Your mind may be tricked into believing it's still daytime (that's what happened to me too). So instead of being on the computer at 2am, maybe you could try reading or some other activity.

wow u really have fu*ked ur life up, i suggest u goto bed at what timeu used to even tho u dont feel sleepy just to get used to it, also i would cancel ur membership to tht dumbas* poker website ur spoiling ur life and family

SEE AS A STANDARD TO HAV A GUD SLEEP WE'VE 2 TAKE 8-HRS; BUT IF IT'S NOT POSSIBLE, THN IN UR LTD. TIME SLEEP COMFORTABLY, AND AFTER WASHINHG UR FACE, EYES, HANDS, FEET IF POSSIBLE TAKING HOT BATH. AND INOFFICE TOO U CAN DO LIL' YOGA WHILE SITTING ATLEAST FOR A MINUTE.

I have been told by many people that as we age the natural creation of melatonin in our bodies decrease. It is my understanding that melatonin is available at health food / vitamin stores. It has been suggested to me to try melatonin. I haven't tried it yet, but I have had many people suggest it to me.
