It sounds like there is a possibility of it being broken / fractured. It also sounds like you may have worsened the fracture by walking about it hence the pain has got worse. Even if it is not a fracture if it causing you a lot of pain when walking then you should still seek medical attention because it could be other damage to your foot...and you only get one pair of feet so you should look after them

why dont you just go to the doctors. it doesnt take that long. just get an x-ray. it might be broken or a fracture. who knows.

If you can kiss and make it better ok, if not have it Xrayed. The size and color will tell you if it bad sprain or not. Put Ice for the swelling, then heat to ease the pain. plan on staying off it for a couple of days.

may have sprained it. go to the hospital to get it checked

It sounds like it might be broken. Here is a list of symptoms of associated with a broken bone:

Usually (but not always) the pain is so bad that you are unable to walk. Broken bones in the toes cause less pain, and you may be able to walk with a broken toe.

Go to the doctor. Get an xray and then get it treated.

Bruising or redness of the foot with a broken bone is common.

Hi,
There are 26 bones in the foot. These bones support our weight and weight bearing should not be painful. Pain, swelling, redness, and even bruising are signs of a possible fracture of your foot. If you have already iced and elevated with no relief and your foot has worsened overnight you should see your doctor today for x-rays and diagnosis. I am an R.N. and I would suggest you seek medical attention.

Good morning,

Never doubt an injury. If you feel you have broken a bone or have another pressing medical issue, please go to the emergency room and have x-rays taken. If it is broken you need to have the immobilized properly until you can get in to see an Orthopedic doctor.

If you have broken a bone and do not have it checked there is the possibility of the bone healing wrong which will cause more problems down the road for you.

Please seek out medical attention today with your local hospital.

Have a good day, feel better and I hope that your ankle is not broken.

hii Jason M,
In my opinion, you did not have a fracture, because after the injury you can walk. So, I think you had an muscle and ligament damage around your foot. And it will very painful.
Because you injured yesterday and swollen and hurt alote, its means that you in acute phase.
The treatment of acute traumatic injury are R-I-C-E :
1. R-Rest : Get resting your foot
2. I-Icing : Apply an Ice (wrapping by towel) on your foot 3 times a day with 15-20 minutes each.
3.C-Compresion : Compress your foot with an Elastic bandage.
4.E-Elevation : Elevate your foot with a small pillow.
You should take a simple pain killer also such as Paracetamol, or take another analgesic such as NSAID( Mefenemic Acid, Natrium Diclofenac, Ibuprofe, etc) or COX2 selective (such as Celebrex, Movicox, etc).

Please doing these before you meet your family doctor. and still ask he/she manage take an X-ray for your foot.

Ok. Get well soon,
Sincerely.
