Sprained ankle-maybe?!

Question: three days ago i fell over and twisted my ankle. It hurts like *insert inappropriate word here*, but there is no bruising or swelling. Is something wrong, or do i just have really crappy ankles?

If it helps, in the past i've sprained both ankles and torn the ligaments in one.

Help? Please?

if its not bruised or swollen then its not bones, its gonna be ligaments...so a sprain...if it dont hurt as much as when ur tore the ligaments then it will just be a grade 1/2 sprain which can normally be treated easily at home, so regularly ice it, keep it rested, put a support /compression bandage on it and keep it elevated where possible. If it is still hurting in more than a few days or is causing you a lot of discomfort then see a doctor or go to A n E / ER

no swelling or bruising, yet it still hurts that's weird
mmm see a doctor

It's hard to say....I've sprained mine numerous times and have broken one. I think some people have weak ankles. I usually take it kind of easy a day, keep up as much as I can & ice it, then after that I try to treat it normally....through the pain. Usually okay after that. You probably have a sprain...more serious and you'll know it. If in doubt, see a doctor....just my opinion.

You probably pulled or bruised a muscle. No worries, just flex it and keep it moving.

Don't put it in warm water, because sometimes it increases swelling.

If it doesn't seem to get much better, then consult a doctor. There is a possibility that you broke or fractured a bone.

It seems like you have chronic ankle instability. I would suggest that you see an orthopedic doctor to have then examined and then go through physical therapy to strengthen the muscles around your ankle and improve your balance to help prevent future sprains.
