Why does my neck hurt when I put pressure on it?!

Question: I noticed when shaving that putting the slightest pressure on my neck/throat causes alot of discomfort and if I apply stiffer pressure on the left or right side muscles (veins? no clue) causes bad pain.I never really noticed this before so I dont know if its normal,or if its natural to feel pain when applying pressure to these points

There could be a lot of things. I had pulled a nerve at the bottom of my head/ top of my neck and I had pains all over my throat and even as far as my shoulder. I also had something wrong with my spine (they told me it was a muscle but I'm pretty sure it wasn't). It was the part where your neck meets with your spine, and it was a pain coming across my upper back into my shoulder (same side as the other thing too!) Anyway, I went to a physical therapist and after working out on it for a while i would get pains in my neck throat like you are. The physical therapist told me that there are many many nerves and muscles going through that area and they can sometimes be sore if pressure is applied too hard or if you are stressed out they will tense up. Basically, they told me it was stress and he would do this thing to massage my pressure points and I could feel the pain melting away! So maybe try to look up online where pressure points are in that area or go to a physical therapist if it doesn't go away soon. (of course if you push on the pressure points just a little too hard it hurts pretty bad)

It could be tightness...you lifting weights? Or...could be the way you slept. That's a tough question. If that's been going on for a while you should get that checked out.

u r probably hitting your pressure points. its no big deal really
