Lower back pain on my right side.?!

Question: Hi I am a 23 year old female, and for a little over a week I've had this pain on my lower back on the right side, it feels soar and sharp, and sometimes it feels like it's burning. I'm not sure what it could be, if you think you know please tell me, if not thank you for reading.

Hi Terri

You should rule out kidney infections, but these are not overly common - unless you have had them before.

If th epain is out from your spine then you likely have a Sacro-Iliac joint problem. It sounds bad but it isn't. This joint is the connection betweeen your spine and your pelvis. It doesn't have a disc so it will swell and tighten easily at times.

You can ease the tension and relieve the pain quickly at home. But if it doesn't settle quickly then it would pay to see someone.

It could be a kidney infection. Get to a doctor and don't mess with it. It can only get worse.

It probably is a pulled muscle in that area. Try taking some Ibuprofen for a week to see if this gets rid of it. Also, apply heat to the area and then do some stretching.

If you have any other symptoms, blood in uring, pain on urination, ect then you probably have a kidney infections and need to go see a doctor.
Good Luck
