Am I ever going to feel better?!

Question: I feel like since last July I have gone from injury to injury and have lived with nothing but pain since then. I have had 7 sprained ankles, a 2x6 to my face, a massive cut down my leg and other freaky injuries.

I am still trying to recover from a severe left ankle sprain ( 8 weeks old and still not better) to wake up on Friday with pain on the left side of my jaw. So now I have TMJ most likely caused by my 2x6 accident over the summer.

It seems that every time something is getting better a new problem arises. I spent Saturday just crying because was not sure how much more I can take. We still do not know why my right ankle still has pain and that was hurt in August. I have no insurance for the MRI that is needed.

I just want to go for a day or two with out pain, ice or pain meds. I just can not seem to get a handle on why I keep getting hurt. I just have freaky accidents lately,

Will I ever feel better or go without pain again????

Hang in there!!!!!! I know you have no other choice in the matter. I am going through a very different but similar medical situation that also deals with chronic pain. It is completely overwhelming and it breaks every part of you down. Hang in there. I know you forget what it feels like to feel well.....but you will not feel like this forever (even though it's hard to believe that right now). Don't pressure yourself. Look for the small things or changes that have happened. Like if you weren't able to walk without help and now you can. Or maybe you had to take pain pills every four hours and now you can go every eight hours. Look for the small changes and be proud of every small accomplishment. Also...don't get off of your doctors. Let them know that you still don't feel right and need their help.
You will feel better again. It may not be as fast as you would like it to be....but you have the tools to make you comfortable (pain pills, etc...). Be grateful that you can BE comfortable if you need to be. Some people don't have that option. Hang in there!!!!
