It's called Synvisc. My husband had both knees injected and the effect lasted about 6 months.

It is called Hylagen or Synvisc (brand names) injections. Basically it is the same substance that is in your joint fluid. It just happens to be found in chickens. If you don't have complicated joint problems and really just have osteoarthritis it should work (85% to 90% of patients report improvement). The improvement can last anywhere from 6 months to the rest of your life. Insurance will generally pay from them every 6 months if needed. It is a much better alternative than surgery. Good luck.
