i noe someone who takes a needle and i think she used to heat it up...or smthn...but it was along time ago and it worked perfectly fine! i prefer going tot he store and doing it..=]
Don't. It's not safe.
Any ear-piercing place at the mall will do it for you free if you just buy a pair of earrings. and you can buy earrings as cheap as 5 bucks.

but if you must. ice the crap out of your ear, put a cork behind it, and stab a needle through your ear into the cork. done and done. for a reference point, watch the parent trap.
You can buy your own simple ear piercing kit. A friend bought one and gave me my 3rd piecing in my ear. However, if you don't really know what you're doing, I'd highly recommend just getting it done at Claire's or something, it's not very expensive.
