Taking a shower with casts on?!


Question: okay, i had surgery on my feet like a week ago, and i have casts up to my knees on both legs, my casts cant get wet. whats the easiest way to take a bath or shower? ive tried many things and i havent found anything easy yet

wrap the casts in plastic wrap or a garbage bag and tape the ends. I wouldn't take a bath. stick to the shower and make it short. afterwards use a hairdryer on low/cool setting to dry any wet spots. hope this helps.

ok this is what i done when i broken my leg during football season
easy way is just put and median trash bag over and duck tape it, to take an easy shower bring a small chair in there and sit on it, then put your feet up near the rims or edges of the bath tube, and simply turn on the show and wash.

NO baths or showers until AFTER the casts come off.


You're stuck with sponge bathing until then. If you need to wash your hair, have someone help you do it by leaning back in a chair into a sink or forward into the sink.


Wrapping the casts with plastic bags will NOT prevent them from getting wet. The water will seep in & get the casts wet. Then you'll have to have them replaced.
