Why does pain linger?!

Question: If you hit your hand, for example, why does the pain last longer than the impact?

Answers: If you hit your hand, for example, why does the pain last longer than the impact?

The reason that the pain can linger is because it's a shock to the nerves in that area. It's like a form of bruising on the inside (an example only).

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

probably because the nerves are still reacting to the hand being hit...

Hello,
There is something knows as pain ghosts, there is a technical name for it but can not recall what it is.
This is when one hurts themselves, but the pain does not seam to go away, but there is nothing there for it to hurt.
Anyhoo the mind is not fully understood....
