Do I have a ruptured ear drum?!

Question: My friends all had these pieces of bubble wrap. And they were the big ones, the bubbles that are about the size of quarters (not pea size). One of them put it right next to my ear and popped it. Immediately I heard ringing and loss of hearing.

The ringing stopped after about 4-5 minutes, but the hearing loss is still present. I do feel I have recovered most of my hearing back, but definately not all. And I can still hear somekind of noise in the backround of my ear...kinda like very faint TV static.

This all happened about 3 hours ago.
Could I possibly have a ruptured ear drum?

not ruptured, did it bleed? did something stab it? it is been damaged. it will heal. you are lucky though.

definitely go the doctor!!!!!!

It's best to see your GP, as I am awaiting doing. I have the same query. Good Luck =]

Possible., have it checked out by a doctor.

Probably not but you have broken some of the tiny hairs in your ear and this loss will be permanent.
