What's the best way to remove a tick head?!

Question: I found a tick on my 2 year olds head. I reacted and yanked it off, now the heads still there. I got some of it out with tweezers, but there is still some left. I do plan to call his ped tomorrow morning and see if she wants me to bring him in, but I was wondering if there was any ideas on how to get it out?

Put a little antiseptic on it like rubbing alcohol to fight infection. You will talk to doc. tomorrow anyway.

When I was younger I think my mom put fingernail polish (clear) over the effected area. Seemed to work.

they say putting vasoline on it will cut off its oxygen supply and it will back out on its own but I've never found this works for me.

you should save the tick so that they can tell whether its a deer tick that carries Lyme disease

Nail polish will block the oxygen to the bug and it will suffocate. The best way -- which can be torturing your child is to light and blow out a match and touch it to the spot. But I would not advise you to do that to your 2 year old's head! :) If you just put in a call to the pediatric nurse or even a call to the hospital on duty nurse they can advise you without a doctor's visit and I would suggest that because I'm sure the poor kid will freak out by everyone touching their head! :)

Light a match blow it out and while the match is still hot put it on the tick. It will back out
