Bee stings can be very painful and once the pain subsides, they sometimes burn or itch. Did you make sure you scrapped off the stinger? Sounds like you did the right thing. The only other suggestions I have are to take a Benadryl (if you are not allergic to this medication) to help with the histamine reaction one has with bee stings and to monitor the sting site over the next few days to make sure that it does not become infected. Also, a mild over the counter pain releiver can help with some of the pain, if needed.
did you get the stinger out.
If not you need to do that then boil it out with peroxide.
If it is swollen put ice on it.
If you got the stinger out dab a tiny bit of bleach on it. It should take the sting away. Not medically proven but it worked with my husband and daughter.

This sounds wierd i know but my grandma alway cuts a potatoe in half and and puts in on it. she says it works i don't know it one of those old wives tales
well as long as you did not get any allergic reaction ( anaphylaxis ) then you should be ok with what you've done
