After a cut, when is it ok to take off the gauze?!
Question: I know I shouldn't rip it off because I don't want to re-open the cut, but it has been an hour....is it ok to take the gauze off now and switch to a bandaid (or three!)?

Take it off only once the cut stops bleeding, regardless of how long it takes. When it does stop bleeding and the cut is clotted slowly remove the gauze to avoid reopening the wound
if its only been on an hour, why take it off?? unless its saturated just leave it there and change it tomorrow. if its just a small cut, you probably don't even need a dressing.
it needs to be changed. but by the sound of it... a bandaid isn't gonna do the trick. use more gauze.
Take it off when the blood clots and it's not bleeding anymore but replace the gauze when the blood soaks through.
If it's stuck to the cut, soak it in warm water before you try and take it off. The water will loosen the dried blood that's making the gauze stick and you will be able to remove it without re-opening your cut.
