Is Massachusetts the only state that requires you to have health insurance?!
Question: And what state doesn't require it?
I'm at my witts end right about now I feel like just killing myself because it would be less expensive to have me around. I was on commonwealth care but they cut me off because I was eligible for Medicare, so they put me on that even though I declined wanting to be on it, they sent me my member info anyhow. But now I have to be on 3 different plans, A, B and D just to get health coverage for RX'x and doctors visits and it's going to cost me about $300 each month as opposed to only $35 when I had the CommonWealth Care. I need help! I don't know what to do. Should I call Medicare and ask them to take me off so I can go back on CommonWealth? Or should I just stay on it? I don't even know when the enrollment date ends for CommonWealth! Is it past? Someone please fill me in...I'm so confused and frustrated!

If you qualify for Medicare they make you take it. However, you CAN get on with an HMO or such and you will have the premium for Medicare taken out each month $96.40. If you look, you can find a plan that will have NO additional premiums AND provide the bogus "donut hole" level of prescription coverage all Medicare folks have been saddled with.
