Broken Arm should I play Rugby after i get my cast off?!


Question: I broke my arm february 23 and get my cast off the April 18th state tournament is may 3. They said no contact till 3 months after break so may 23. should i play?

It's your call. Bones take time to recover and rebuild. I play rugby and i understand the desire to get back to playing but due to the nature of the sport and the forces involved, it would be very easy for you to break the same bone. I would stay off playing but keep up fitness levels by running and doing drills. Health before fun.

no, you will see that you will have lots of pain. I don't think you would want to be grabbed or hit on you arm. remember that your bone needs about a year to be as strong as it used to be. you should ask yourself do you want it to get refractures and be in the cast another 4-6 weeks ... you only have two arms and there will be plenty to games to play later
