Wow, I wish I had some magic words for you. I am so proud of your decision to quit. Every day will get easier. Remind yourself that you are proud of yourself. Try to avoid places where a lot of people smoke. Start taking walks, feel how much easier it is to go up hills because you can breathe better. Pick up a pen and write a poem or in a journal to give your fingers something to do. Change around your day and habits so the times you used to smoke are changed about. Have healthy snacks handy (grapes, strawberries, etc) to munch when you need to get through a tough period. You CAN do this!

simply don't do it, only slow minded people would ask for tips

yes. stop buying cigarettes

Replace it with sex. I'm not kidding either

God no. I just lit one. I knwo people who've tried it all but most everyone I've talked to said the gums, the patches etc are just tools or aids it's really about having the mind to quit and determining it will happen.

You really need to make sure you want to quit, If you are doing it for someone else you will fail.

whne u go in the store buy your fave pice of candy instead of cig's dont even look at them
instead of having a habit of smoking have a habit of eating your fave piece of candy

never buy another pack of cigarettes again, and have someone help you,

I was up to two packs a day and simply quit cold turkey. I didn't have any urges and haven't wanted one since. Worked for me. My only tip is to be motivated, to do it because you absolutely want to and feel it is the best thing for yourself. That will carry you through.

I tend to smoke a lot at the computer. A few times, I chewed on some sunflower seeds (with the shells) to assist the oral fixation that comes with smoking. That helps a bit. There are also all-natural cigs called "American Spirit" which do not contain the addictive additives. It'd be good to switch to those.

Think of other things to do.

Naturally smokers like touching the cigarette.

Try holding your key a lot that helps.

Basically smoking is there because u want to feel something in your mouth.

Find something else that can keep you busy and u will stop smoking.

Get some tootsie pops or gum for the rough days or go to a movie because you can't smoke in there. If the Zyban doesn't work...you can always try the nicotine lozenge. The lozenge is the only way I quit because the nicotine in it stays in your system longer. The birth of my son is the only way I found the will power.

i tell everyone this , people who take all those gums and pills and patches to help them quit smoking are the people who really dont want quit, if you really wanted to quit you would be able to but you just dont want to

My cousin ate sunflower seeds. I suppose peanuts or pistachios would work too. The point is he was able to keep his hands busy by opening the shells, and his mouth busy by chewing. They are relatively healthy so if you are careful it should help curve the extra hunger craving that go along with quitting smoking.

Coffee
And Xanax - that helped me so much to calm down when I was really anxious and needed one. You should talk to your DR about a small dose that you can take as needed. I have tried so many times. I was taking Chantix pills and that DID not work.
Coffee, Xanax and actually even just holding a cigarette w/o smoking will help.
I hope you stop and live a long and very healthy life!

PS. If xanax is not something you want to try- try starting meditating and focusing on OTHER things! Find something that calms you down, even a cup of tea....

I took Wellbutrin and needed no assistance (it's the exact same thing as Zyban). I quit in about 2 weeks. No biggie. Haven't really had an issue since (I've been smoke free for over a year). I have had 2 drags since that time and both times wanted to barf. You'll be fine. It really works. Why I don't know..

Be careful... I got hives from the meds.

I quit 6 yrs back, and it helped if I used lolly pops. There is just something soothing about having that motion as if the candy were a cigarette. I really wish you the best of luck.

It's a good idea to set a date to quit, you'll take it more seriously.
Drink lots of water to flush out the nicotine.
It will be out after a few days, so after that, you're dealing with a mental addiction, not physical.
When you really want one, focus on how long it has been since your last smoke, and remind yourself you don't want to go back to zero.
Remember, you're stronger than that addiction!

u will go yoga and meditation r make the mind to divert any of ur interesting thigs

Simply go to the cancer hospital and see the patients with throat and lung cancer, cancer of mouth. All due to smoking. See how they suffer.

After seeing them for one full day you will never... never...I say never you will smoke in your life.

First of all...QUITE BUYING THEM! Simple as that!
Or! When you feel the need to have one. Chew your fave gum.

Calculate the amount of money you spend on cigarettes per day, multiply it out for a year, and select something you can afford with that much money (quite a bit of change I would think). Put the money in a can every time you think of buying some more cigarettes, and at the end of the year, treat yourself to a nice big gift.

i journelled when i quit, and when i had a craving, i would surf the net and print out pages or pics and stick them in the journel.. then i would read the journel when i was having a hard time with cravings and read why i was doing it.. i wrote clear goals and listed the pros and cons of smoking!! my journel is quite amusing and im sure you will have a little laugh later on when you read later.. im in my seventh week now of quitting.. and im still ok!!

best of luck, and u wont regret quitting.. the energy u get later on is fantastic!! i feel amazing!! just hang in there.. the first week is the worst..

Record yourself and watch to see how long you can go without smoking or thinking about smoking. If your still smoking while on zyban, try the following; try to go longer in between cigarettes. For example, if you smoke one in an hour, then try to only smoke one every 90 minutes. Do this for a week, then stretch the time out longer. Go 120 minutes between each one the second week and so on the following weeks. Keep doing this until you are down to only one a day, then you will find that it is easier to stop. Try to go for a week without them, It shouldn't be an issue for you anymore at this point. If this doen't solve it, see if you can find a counselor or somebody who has had practice in non-smoking techniques. I hope i have been of help to you.

my spouse found that the best way was to ask yourself, "Do I really want to quit?" He did, and quit cold turkey. Lived an additional 5+ years after being told he was going to die in months. So, you can quit only if you want to, and an additional note, use hard candy such as butterscotch to suck on.
