Restless Leg Syndrome?!

Question: Hi everyone! So, I'm almost 26 and I have RLS and have for the last 12 years. My question for fellow RLS sufferers is (no offense to those of you who don't have it, but trust me, it takes someone with it to understand) is there anything that seems to help you aside from prescription medication? Specifically, any vitamins or supplements that seem to help aside from iron because I know I don't have an iron deficiency?

Also, have any of you tried accupuncture for it? I'm going mad right now with this and I'm at my wits end trying to figure out something that will work for me. I'm willing to try anything (short of ripping off my legs, which right now actually does sound like an excellent idea).

P.S. What type of sensations do you have? I'm curious because I had always assumed the creepy-crawly like I have was the standard and I recently learned some of you have actual pain. Also, how often do you have symptoms? Just wondering.

Well, thanks in advance for your help!

Here are a few links that will help you. The first one is a good alternative medicine site and the second is the best info on RLS you'll find.
It's good free info from medical professionals, not just anyone with a computer and access to Yahoo

Hope you get some relief soon

put a bar of any brand of soap under your sheets and it really helped me when i had mine. try it! i swear!

I'm not quite sure if i have RLS but i cant seem to keep my legs still at my desk - i just run around alot and hope that my legs get tired enough to fall asleep on me.

i apologise, i do not have RLS, but i have heard from my herbalist that magnesium (300 to 500mg) can help ease the sensations.

sorry, i don't know anything other than that!

Magnesium, Melatonin and Iron. Try that cocktail and see what happens. I've tried all the meds for restless legs and nothing works. I've also tried muscle relaxers...HA...what a joke!

Those three supplements have helped me a great deal. But I also take Xanax and that probably helps the most although it's addictive.

GOOD LUCK :)

i dont have it but my dad dose .. really bad he takes requip

I read an article on a news website some time ago about
people who put bars of soap under their sheets to help
restless leg syndrome. They were trying to figure out why
it worked. Apparently it's really helped some people, and
it's boggled the medical community as to why, so evidently
it's not entirely a myth.
