How can I help him get his energy levels up?!

Question: My partner works 8am-5pm every day and it takes him an hour to get to work, and an hour to get home. So thats an 11 hour day every day...it really seems to be taking its toll on him.

Neither of us drive, so getting to work involves a half hour walk then a twenty minute bus then a ten minute walk at the other end. Luckily someone at work has started giving him a lift home sometimes.

Our contract for our apartment runs out in october so we will be moving closer to his work then, but until then how can i help him get his energy levels up?

He is often asleep by 8pm. At weekends he is often too tired to do much apart from maybe go to the shops. This can't be normal for an otherwise healthy 20 year old!

How can i help him???

Thanks xxx

My husband got like that before we were married and it turned out that he is diabetic and that affected his Thyroid. Hopefully it's nothing like that but he should probably see the doctor.

What does he do for work, by the way? If he is at the computer or doing paperwork all day long that usually makes a person feel more tired than physical work so...
woops, I forgot that you said you both have to walk each day. I was going to suggest a brisk 20 minute walk after work but I guess that's not necessary.
It does sound like a long day, though, I think anyone would be tired.
If you can encourage him to do it you both should try yoga together. That helped my husband tremendously with his fatigue.

Cattle Prod!

I would say that as a 20 year old he should'nt really be that tired, has he seen a doctor recently?

I would suggest he gets an appointment to have a blood test to check his Thyroid function as it sounds that it may be underactive, its quick and painless.

In the meantime, i found that the high energy drinks worked wonders as they are stuffed with caffine, but dont drink to close to bed time or he'll never sleep and start a whole new problem. Click the link below for Thyroid details.

I would say that he is not in shape...or if it's fatigue. Get him to see a doctor and check if everything is status quo
