Why am I smelling stuff?!

Question: Well since I was little I never really had a sense of smell, only when u hold something up to my nose i'll kinda smell it. Anyways, 3 days ago I started smelling something digusting (I can't explain but for some reason it reminds me of something nasty being eaten in fear factor lol) anyways no one else had smelled it. Its not letting me eat, and even if i breathe from my mouth i can still somehow smell it. has this happened to anyone else?

I'd ask the doctor - did they ever figure out why you don't have much of a sense of smell? Smelling something that "isn't there" could be an indication that there's a problem. Set your mind at ease and see the doc.

Not me. I really think you should see a doctor. Strange things like that can indicate something not right in the body. Go.

and if it isn't your teeth, have your blood sugar checked and your thyroid. I get the smell of something rottingly sweet when my sugar gets high and stays that way. The smell comes from my pores.

You may have sinus drainage or infection. This can sometimes cause you to smell something like you describe. Medications as well as hormonal changes can sometimes cause smell distortions as well.

Do you have a nasal infection?

It can smell nasty and the area is full of them right now.

NeilMed at Walgreens or CVS would be a cheap way to find out.

Go to YOUTUBE.com and type in Neilmed after you bought it and watch the good demos on how to use it.

The bad demos, ignore.

You will find relief and probably a bunch of junk in your nose.

If you have a nasal infection, you may need antibiotics and cortical nasal sprays for a short period of time. See a Nose doc that specializes in this area.
