well a car crash is first of all very hard on the body. So, I'll assume you've been to a doctor to get the diagnosis. If not, you need to go for the evaluation. You will be living with your back for the rest of your life, and need to take care of it properly now to prevent further problems.

And you are correct, the other regular exercise you mentioned would be agnoy. Maybe stretching moves for the legs and thighs could also be done.

Lots of luck!

So, no quick response for back injuries. Time and persistence is all you will have. Physical therapy will outline all the exercises you should and can do.

Check into pool therapy, water is very good for toning. Weights of about a pound can be used repetitively to tone arms, but you don't' want any stress on the damaged areas. Sitting on exercises ball will work the core muscles, and you will need directive from someone knowledgeable on your injuries first.

The best thing for you to do, is to see a physical therapist. They can safely give you what exercises are good for what you want to do, and make it safe so that you do not injure yourself more. Ask your doctor for a referal to see one.
