Is it normal to experience more sinus pain after using sinus wash????!

Question: Hi, i bought Fess Sinu-cleanse (www.fess.com.au) 2 days ago after being frustrated with my sinuses.

To start with I read the instructions and used the saline sachet and it felt strange but after it, i could really breathe. After it i felt a kind of mild throbbing in my nose, but after about 3 hours i developed a bad headache. I had to take pain killers and then woke up with it worse today and now i can't get rid of the headache. I'm scared to use the wash again.

Is it that i just need to get used to the wash and do it say 2 times a day, even with the headache? Will the headache go away? I noticed that since doing it, i am more black around the eyes and the inside of my eyes are pink not red. Is it just simply that it's starting to wash the bad stuff out and i need to keep the wash up for a few weeks to be truly clear of the gunk?? Please help!!!

I use mine with plain water, just make sure the water is almost warm, not cold. The nose should not throb afterward.
Did you wash the netty pot well before your first use. Sounds like you are getting pink eye.

Last year I fell to my first sinus problem! I had seen the sinus wash on Oprah and so decided to fill a basin of lukewarm water, dissolve some salt and sniff it up my nose, home made sinus wash! Yeah, after I thought if I banged my head off the sink that pain might distract me from the pain of the sinus wash! Turned out I had a infection and my GP was laughing his head off at the fact I had tried to clean my infected sinus, with salt water. Sinus wash is excellent provided you do not have a infection. Once you have a infection, sinus wash is not going to help, but just induce more pain. Best of Luck
