Too many docs may take the general "hey this works better for me" as a sign of a "drug-seeker". What's best in this situation (or so I've found) is to get the records from the doc that medicated you with the 40 mg. tabs of oxycodone and bring them to this doc. Your records will best reflect the course of action it took to get to the right prescription to begin with.

Good luck, and be well.

When you go to the Doctor, just let him know when you're both going over pain medication what you have taken in the past, and what works for you...He'll prolly go over what kinds of pain medications are available (maybe something that he's had luck with his patients or something new you could try), what he wants to do for your treatment and you both can go from there.

Anytime you feel it important to tell your Doctor something, tell him, or want to discuss with him let him know...We forget that our Doctors work for us, and not the other way around...we pay good money to see them, they should be doing everything possible to help and aid...if your current Doctor isn't helping you like you want, it would be worth a visit to a Pain Specialist...These are Doctors that specifically deal with Pain of all kinds (mostly chronic conditions and injury related)
Sorry to hear about your back pain...hope you get your medication and I hope this helped!

tell him they worked... if they do then all is well.
