Can anyone advise how to prevent an accident to an elderly person?!

Question: We purchased an expensive bath advertised as suitable for the elderly. Easy to climb in and out wth an integrated seat. which is fine, but it is so slippery. We have tried many "in bath" mats but all have failed the non slip trial. Does anyone know of a non slip "in bath" mat which will solve our problem.

I have the Dolphins as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis! However since the disc went I no longer have a bath, but my Mother does and yes they work wonders. Last year a friend came to stay and asked me the same question: those Dolphins are excellent did they come with the bath? For the life of me I could NOT remember where I got them from, so thanks for Mothercare, now I can phone him and tell him. Best of Luck

Have a look in Mothercare - they do little dolphin shaped stick ons which work well for kids - might just do the job.

Do you live in the UK? It might be better to contact your GP or district nurse and ask for an occupational therapy referral. OT's are experts at assessing patients and finding different ways of making an elderly person's home safe for them.

Also, have you looked at the Age Concern website, or Help the Aged - they might have some suitable products which they could recommend to you.

You can get the sticky things from the home inprovement store that actually stick to the bottom of the tub.
