Well I hope you don't self harm just to see the outcome; I'm sure any hard fall or solid implement hitting you would cause you to bruise, depending on how sensitive your skin and body tissue is. Usually bruises would occur on parts of the arm, leg and face depending on how hard the contact was.

Bruises are just blood caught in tissue when you've run into something or gotten hurt in someway, but not enough to break skin. It depends on the force of the blow and the sensitivity of the area.
