How can i get over my fear of shots?!
Question: I get really scared and nervous when i have to go to the doctor's office.. I hate when he pulls out those needles! I start crying like crazy.. last time he didnt even give me the shots because i couldnt stay still. Pretty soon im going back to the doctor's office and i know im going to get shots.. any edvice
on how i can get over my fear of needles? Im 15 years old by the way

im thirteen and i still hate shots. and there is no way to compensate for the fear that you have but there are ways to help you.
one way is to have someone with you is ISNT afraid of needles. that way, you have someone to tell you its ok.
another thing is to talk through it. have the doctor or the nurse ask you various random questions to keep your mind off of what the doctor is doing, and keep it on silly questions.
one thing that is always important to remember is RELAX! the more you tense your muscles the more it hurts. if you dont watch it, you dont know, so you dont tense, and it wont hurt as much.

Just do it. I'm afraid of needles too, but my health is so bad at times now I have to get blood drawn alot. Hopefully you will get nurses that will do it quich.
Can you ask your doctor to give you oral medication instead ? Have you tried looking away or seeing if they can give you the shots somewhere other than your arms ? Please know that you are not alone in this fear.
K, WAS so scared of shots this past summer, but the shot does not hurt at all, it feels like someone poked you in the arm, it does not hurt at all, I promise!
think about something relaxing that you love and want. You should be thankful you have the chances and opportunities to be able to pay the vaccines, what do you prefer: feeling pain for about 12 secs or being really sick? the shots protect you. some kids don't have this kind of health treatment. be thankful and just remember: you are gonna be alright if you relax and stay calm.
